"...a touch of scintillating news, if anything regarding the penultimate jam band the Grateful Dead, defunct but forever-rolling-away-the-dew in some mushroom patch or another, can be described as scintillating."

That IS funny. Good catch.

I'm thinking the use of Day Job will at least get 'em on Car Talk

or Wait ! Wait!...

I'm a NPR junkie too. The Wait! Wait! comment was pretty funny. Were are you Aug West? I'm in Portland, OR.

Ahh, I assumed the west coast since you're handle is august w(e)st. How'd you get Carl's voice? You have an mp3 for me I can dub my name in? That would be awesome.

I am in the southern tier of the state. august west has more to do with the song than my location.

I got the voicemail from the wait wait website, they had samples and one happened to have my name in it!

A rather amusing piece of a band just trying to make it. Ha ha the Dead are abusing their power of NPR. Here in SC I get 88.7 WNCW from NC which is a NPR station and in about 5 hours from now Dead Hour with Gans comes on. After that Dead Air comes on which is mainly Dead and some Phish, WSP, and moe. thrown in. Now the Dead want All Songs Considered to do a show. I wonder if this is the work of the Dead or Rhino.

My favorite radio station anywhere. I tune in reliably when I cross into SC going North on I-85 on my way to Asheville, Richmond, or DC, my usual northbound destinations.

I find SC to be mostly scary...

Good Point. I'm usually visiting good folks there, none related to politics.
